Painted Alice will run April 19- 28 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 8 pm at The Plaxall Gallery (5-25 46th Avenue, Long Island City). Long Island City Artists, (Garden Of Delights, Stupid F#cking Bird) in association with Greg Schaffert (Broadway, Tony Winner Peter and the Starcatcher), is presenting this production of William Donnelly and Michael Mahler’s Painted Alice, a quirky musical reboot of Alice In Wonderland, with direction by Jenn Rapp (Broadway, The Illusionists), and musical direction by Conor Keelan (Broadway, A Bronx Tale). In this strange world rife with self-indulgent artists, she meets a variety of outrageous characters that challenge her idea of success and help her answer the question, “Does domestic bliss cause artistic death?” ![]() Painted Alice is an original immersive musical adaptation of Alice In Wonderland (for adults) that follows Alice, an artist struggling with painters’ block, as she distances herself from her partner and accidentally falls through her canvas into a visual art-inspired wonderland. ![]()
